Sydney-based architecture practice Koichi Takada is known for their use of timber to create calm and elegant interiors. But when it came to designing the pool common area of a luxury apartment in Melbourne’s Docklands, they had to find a product that would be materially appropriate for the context.
Covet recently worked with both builder and architect to create a suspended ceiling using the 30x85 two piece Kabebari profile. We supplied a custom black T section that was affixed to ceiling rods. From there the battens were fastened to the T sections with an acoustic matt infill. The end result delivered by the builder was testament to their tradesmens' skills.
Covet is proud to be part of the new Articolo lighting showroom in Richmond. A custom Concrete overlay floor was crafted to suit the modern aesthetic of this space. The Alabaster with Marble/Dove aggregate blend features in the entrance of the showroom.

Designers have been drawn to the realistic and unique aesthetic of this Japanese timber palette, coupled with its excellent FR attributes.
A detailed and complex project has recently been delivered incorporating several Covet materials. The main feature being the Mitzosuki bolt fix battens wrapping the corner of the building with LED screen display. All cut to exacting dimension in Japan. We were also fortunate to provide the 1x2mtr Art Board panels on the ground floor cladding, custom blue battens on the awning and lobby concrete tiles. Covet Artwood from Japan was recently installed in a new apartment development in Melbourne called Spectrum Apartments - Box Hill. Designed by KUD and developed by Shangyi Property, this building makes a bold, contemporary statement. The designer selected the Covet aluminium cladding system called Ever Artwood from Takasho Japan for the entry lobby. The battens employed were the 2-section ‘Kabebari’ system designed for ease of installation and concealed fixings. The project was pre-cut from shop drawings in Japan and involved over 600 battens. The designers and client were drawn to the fire rating (AS/NZ 3837 - group 1), realistic timber aesthetic, precision and low maintenance aspect of the material.
